There are stories we don’t capture only with a camera.

We capture them with our hearts.

Sansão wasn’t just a client.

He was part of our story.

A beautiful caramel dog, 10 years old, whom we had the privilege of following throughout his life. He had been with us in different moments, took part in castings, modeled in front of our lenses many times… and over the years, we also built a connection with his family.

Natália, his mom, opened a daycare. We became partners. And more than that, we built a bond. The kind that goes beyond work.

We photographed Sansão many times. With his brother Nick. With his family. Always surrounded by love.

But nothing compares to what we experienced during his Infinite Session.

A love you don’t explain… you feel

Sansão had something that can’t be put into words.

A love for his mom that was visible in every look.

The news came the way no one is ever ready to hear.

A tumor in his spleen.

Ruptured.

A diagnosis with no chance of cure, only palliative care.

The kind of moment that makes time stop… and at the same time, move too fast.

Receiving that news about Sansão was devastating for all of us. Because when you work with pet photography, you know: they are not just clients.

They are stories.

They are bonds.

They are pieces of our own journey.

The day time slowed down: Sansão’s session

The day of Sansão’s session didn’t begin like any other. Even before the camera was ready, there was already a different feeling in the air… as if everyone knew, without saying it, that this wouldn’t be just another day.

Natália and Alexandre arrived with him, with that kind of care that only comes from true love. Sansão was there, just as he was. Quieter, calmer… but with the same gentle look. A look that seemed to see beyond.

We didn’t need to plan much. Actually, almost nothing.

The session simply began… by happening.

They went for a walk. No rush. No script. Time started to follow Sansão’s rhythm. If he stopped, everyone stopped. If he wanted to keep going, we followed. And little by little, everything became much more about feeling than doing.

Natália looked at him differently. With intention. As if she was trying to hold onto every detail, every expression, every small gesture. And the most beautiful part was seeing how he responded… getting closer, leaning in, staying near. A connection so strong that it didn’t need any direction.

There was a moment that stayed with all of us.

She knelt beside him, gave him a gentle, almost automatic touch… but full of meaning. And he simply closed his eyes. As if that was the safest place in the world. And maybe it truly was.

There was no technique there. No posing. No concern about the outcome.

There was only love.

A calm, present, quiet… yet immense love.

Sansão walked at his own pace. Slower, yes. But every step carried a story. And between one step and another, things happened that only those who are fully present can notice. A longer gaze. A touch that lingers. An embrace that doesn’t need to end.

Nothing was forced. Nothing was rushed. If he wanted to lie down, he did. If he wanted to be held, he was. And when he just wanted to be there… simply existing… we respected that.

Because that day, the most important thing wasn’t photographing.

It was living.

It was allowing that moment to unfold in the most genuine way possible.

And maybe that’s why this session was so special.

Because it wasn’t created.

It was felt.
